After telling my dad about an incident Monday where I had to call the cops and wished I had a dash cam, he bought me this for my birthday: a Toguard CE50 G. I’ll set it up tomorrow, but I need to grab an SD card (I probably have one lying around).
Anyway, seems like it should be alright. I’ll post a review eventually if anyone cares.
It also came with this sweet sticker.

Nice. I gave up on mine: crap interface, mediocre image quality.
I wish Apple would make one. It’s like my GoPro: the interface is too confusing for infrequent interactions. If I had to work with the dash cam or GoPro on a daily basis, I’d remember how to use it, but it’s too opaque for me to come back to it weeks later and figure it out without a manual.

Hopefully this one is intuitive (it won’t be) . Personally, I just wish cars would have dash cams built in.

I chuckled at the idea of a $800 Apple Dash cam which never fulfills its purpose because people break into the cars to steal these.
I’d hate to add to the list of standard features, but I think these should be more common. At worst, you record a BMW who doesn’t use their blinker, at best it saves you from false accusations about who was at fault in an insurance claim or police report.

Makes sense. I’m curious how it applies to States where all parties need to consent to photos/recordings, which likely explains the sticker.

B ut the knockoff would have better specs, be cheaper, work on almost any car, and give you a lot more customization options.
Of course, nobody talks about the Microsoft version that came out six years earlier , completely flopped and nobody can remember the name of.

Two lane road. Someone tried to pass three vehicles in a no passing zone and almost caused a head on collision (approaching vehicle had to swerve out of the way) . The police ended up getting him, I gave a statement, so I may have to go to court in a few months.

Yikes. Yeah, a dashcam would provide good backup.
My wife (Borat voice) was in an accident today where it probably would be good to have dashcam footage.
Multiple vehicles, multiple impacts. Total loss on a work vehicle of hers. She’s fine, but with the recent changes to fault Rules in this province...

Jesus, I glad she’s okay. Hopefully somewhere has footage, though.
